Donald Robinson, who has offered a helping hand to many through his volunteer work and music ministry, has been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.  With mounting medical bills not fully covered by medical insurance, he and his family urgently need our support.  The Bridge Builders have come together to help lighten the family’s burden during this challenging period.  The February 25th concert will be more than a fundraiser, however, it will be an opportunity to show brotherly love for a beloved music maker; an evening of song, a celebration of triumph. Biography

Donald Robinson
 is an acclaimed, world-class producer, songwriter and musician who has lent his remarkable gifts to an impressive array of artists such as: Grover Washington, Jr. (1998 Grammy award nominations for “Soulful Strut” and “Breath of Heaven”).  He has also worked with artists such as Bob James, Nancy Wilson, Rachelle Ferell, Phil PerryGladys Knight, Regina Bell, Phyllis Hyman, Miki Howard, Chuck Loeb, Ce Ce Winans, Kirk Whilam, Gerald Veasley, Walter Beasley, Najee, and Rick Braun.

He secured publishing deals with Jobete Music in 1987 and EMI in 1993.  After being recruited by prominent music executive Ed Eckstein, he helped launch the successful career of Grammy award winning songstress Vanessa Williams by producing her hit song, “Dreamin”, (No. 1 on the R&B charts and No. 6 on the pop charts).  Donald is a multi-faceted composer whose first production was Eugene Wilde’s smash R&B hit “Gotta Get You Home Tonight” (also re-done by Foxy Brown and other jazz artists.).  He has written for big bands and orchestra.  Donald also has to his credit, songs that have been featured in major motion pictures and hit TV soaps including “All My Children”, “One Life To Live”, and “The Young and the Restless”. 

Donald is President and  CEO of S.O.W. Productions, a company that is committed to promoting integrity and positive songs in all genres of music.  His passion is to cultivate the talents and dreams of local artists so that they may achieve national or international success and thus has chosen to stay local rather than to relocate to other cities or countries for his own personal gain.  Donald is a member of the Philadelphia Chapter of NARAS (the GRAMMY organization) where he serves on it’s Board of Governors.  He is also the director of the Men’s Choir at Christian Stronghold Baptist Church, where he is an active member.

He enjoys spending time with his wife, Carrie and their three delightful young children, LyricaJacquelyn and Donald Jr.
